AMITABHA NUNNERY

The Amitabha Nunnery is now part of His Holiness’s Amitabha Grand Project. The number of nuns now in Kathmandu at Amitabha is over 200 and His Holiness has said that he will accept more soon. The photo on the right shows some new nuns taking their vows.

The Amitabha Grand Project (see below) stands high on a hill above Kathmandu and is nearing the completion stage. At the moment large reservoirs are being built to help with the water shortage that exists here.

The Amitabha Grand Project has many buildings, the main one is an amazing temple, which the nuns lovingly look after and keep spotlessly clean. There is also a very beautiful stupa (see below), nuns quarters, retreat centre, office, clinic, library, a primary school.
