NYOMA LADAKH MONASTERY SCHOOL |
| The children in this school at Nyoma are
under the guidance of His Holiness the 12th Gyalwang Drukpa. In
Ladakh it is considered a great honour for a family to have their
children serve the community by receiving an education and training
at one of the monastery schools. The monasteries act as a central
focus for the spiritual and practical needs of the community. Traditionally,
these children would be able to receive support from the local community
to complete their education and fulfill their role. However, with
the changing economic structure in Ladakh it is becoming increasingly
difficult for these children to find support. We are looking for
sponsors for this group of children and their teachers, many of
whom are orphans, Tibetan refugees or from poor nomadic families.
